Summary
Free rebids or permutation bidding is the most complex, yet most powerful concept in helping with Priceline hotels bidding. In the most basic form, we add free zones to our bid knowing that it won’t change the result because these zone we added has no star level that we are bidding. The complex free rebids involve closing a browser or deselect some of previous free rebid zones to maximized our rebids.
What is a free rebidding zone?
A free rebidding zone or a free rebid zone is the zone with only lower star rating than what we are bidding. It is just a redundant added to our bid that won’t change the result. It simply allow us to rebid higher right away, not have to wait 24 hours per Priceline rule.
Identify free rebid zone
To identify which zones can be our free rebid zones, simply check each area in the city one by one. We will see the highest star rating available in each zone.
North Everett has at most 2 & 1/2 star rating. It can be used as a free rebidding zone for 3 or 4 star hotel bids
Please ensure to validate free rebidding zones each time you bid. It can changes slightly everyday as inventory on Priceline changed. Also take note of available rebidding zones, since you won’t see the most star level available in each zone on the rebid screen.

How to use
For one rebid zone, it is straight forward. You just select the free rebid zone to be added to your bid then submit the bid again at the higher price. Two rebid zones? You can bid four times. For example, you want to be in downtown, and North beach and South Mountain are your free rebid zones. You can bid…

Please keep the same star level when you rebid so you will not win on the rebid zone.
You do not have to bid four times. It is there for you to use. You may win the bid on the second try.
In this example, to submit the 4th bid you have to click the back button on your browser and deselect the North Beach, or just close the browser and start over with downtown and South Mountain.
How many times you can bid is multiplied at a power of two. That means 8 times for 3 zones, 16 for 4 zones, 32 for 5 zones, 64 (6), 128 (7) and 256 times for 8 zones!.

FAQ
Q: Is it true that the higher star level we bid, the more free re-bid zones?
A: That is correct. As of this writing, to bid a four star hotels in San Francisco. You can bid up to 16 times from 4 rebidding zones. If you want a three star, your chances drop to 4 with only 2 rebid zones.
Q: I read from somewhere that zone with resorts can not be use as a free rebid zone.
A: Not anymore. In the older Priceline system. It happened quite a bit when bidding in Las Vegas. Resort was rank higher than four star hotels. Not anymore, resorts are now at the bottom.
